The card that accompanied my birthday present <3
must be a husband and some sons
I mean, think what you want, but I’m definitely sucking all four dicks.
Best blunt explanation EVER. I’d like the post again just for that comment, but tumblr won’t let me like it twice, so reblogging’ll have to do.
thank you matt smith
a serious fucking problem in society that needs to be stopped immediately
As a heterosexual guy let me just make it clear that not dressing “feminine”, being “overweight” or “too skinny”, having small boobs and most of all wearing glasses and being shy are not turn offs to me. In fact they make you seem a lot more human and I’d be so much more willing to ask you to be my girlfriend.
ok cool but thats not even the point of this comic though??
like we dont care what you or anyone wants from us we just want society and people to stop making everything revolve around our appearance and pleasing straight dudes, telling us what we can and cant do with our bodies and shoving all of these impossible and harmful standards of beauty in our face and then treating us like absolute garbage for not being any of that and gradually destroying our self esteem at an early age and making it seem like we need approval from others or guys to be attracted to us in order to love ourselves and making our physical appearance the end all be all of our existence in general
also you or anyone else telling us how much girlfriend potential we have because of a few traits we may or may not possess is the exact opposite of helping

No guys, I need to stop and talk about something in this movie and how fucking revolutionary it was; something that I haven’t seen in a movie before or since.
This is a movie about a kid who leaves her birth family.
Not a kid who find that they have a secret lineage or something that allows them to find their ‘true family’ - this is a movie about a kid whose true birth family is made up of bad people. So she gets out. And that is played as the right thing to do. She isn’t punished for it or made to feel bad about ‘abandoning her family’. There isn’t an underlying ‘but they’re your family and you have to love them’ or ‘they’re your family and they love you even if they don’t show it well or do hurtful things’ message of the kind that I see OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER in media. Matilda gets out and lives happily ever after because of it.
We need a million more movies like this to counter the metric shit ton of movies that directly counter this message.
Sometimes I forget and then I’m reminded
Do you just ever love a person so much
But not in a sexual/romantic way
You just love them so much it’s not even a friendship
It’s like they’re your sibling or a platonic soul mate
You don’t want to make out with them or do sexual things
You just want to keep them close to you and protect them and be their friend for life
Reminder that while the concept of virginity is technically a social construct, your sexual debut is still allowed to be special to you, and you are still allowed to wait and want to make it meaningful, and your self-perception is still allowed to change after you have sex. Just as long as you’re doing these things for yourself, and not because someone told you that you should.
You do you.
#no#she can’t#because a companion whose first response is ‘the doctor will save me’ isn’t a companion i want to watch#sure#she gets her head out of her ass#but at least twice in this episode#she responds to tension with ‘the doctor will save me’#are you fucking kidding me?? (via elenul)
Okay I’ve seen this critism of her a lot but personally I think that’s EXACTLY why she’d make such a fucking amazing companion. I think one thing that’s been forgotten about Doctor Who in the recent era of witty, “sassy” ladies with guns is that not everyone knows they’re strong. Not everyone has the kind of confidence Clara has (which in my opinion is just because she’s not fleshed out enough to be anything but confident, but that’s another argument for another day).
I’m tired of one-dimensional strong women. I WANT to see a woman who’s first reaction is “Doctor save me”. And THEN, I want her to grow and realize she can save herself, hell even save him. Because that’s what Doctor Who is supposed to be. Discovering the strength in yourself, an ordinary girl. Not impossible, not after waiting. Just a regular, dorky, anxious young woman who finds her own courage.
